If you’ve stopped by this blog in the past week, you may have noticed something new floating around in the upper right-hand corner of the page. After publishing a book or two or three on subjects unrelated to making preserves, I’ve just written my first eBook on a subject I truly love — the best damn jam I know how to make.
I’ve been doing “how-to” writing for a long time — almost sixteen years now. So it was natural (almost compulsive, really) to start writing detailed, step-by-step instructions for making preserves, including every tip and trick I know. That’s what I try to do each time I post a recipe on the blog — but when I came back from the Marin County Fair with my handful of ribbons, I was inspired to create something special. I wanted to gather those prizewinning recipes into a simple, neat-o format that I could share via download. That’s what this eBook is for.
I’ll tell you this, though. I was all over the map about how much money to ask for it. This money-charging thing doesn’t come so naturally to me. First, I priced it abysmally low (I won’t even tell you) and then, when I was encouraged to price it higher, I overshot in that direction, too. I finally settled on $9.95, which feels like a fair price for the hard work that I put into it and the good information you’ll get from it. And a girl’s gotta do something to keep herself in fruit, you know?
